Olúwa ní Olùsọ àgùntàn mí (the Lord is my shepherd)

It’s only God that has helped me keep my sanity these past weeks because if not for God, I might be sitting on the floor of Aroo mental. Some people who I thought were my friends have hurt me so much I’m not sure I can ever totally recover and be really friends with them. I am the kind of person that cherishes the people she loves. I may go MIA ever so often but when you need help, I can cut off my right arm to make sure you get it. So it hurts me so much when someone so close to me takes blatant advantage of that. There’s nothing I hate more than feeling used and taken for granted. My popsie kuku warned me about overstretching myself and always putting the needs of others in front of mine. Now I see what he’s talking about. I thought it was the way to go, after all JOY means Jesus first, yourself last and others in between. But no more of that o! No more. Chai, I’m burnt sha! I am not giving details because I refuse to slander others.

In other news, I just found out that Tsitsi Dangarembga, the author of one of my fave novels Nervous Conditions, has published a sequel. I almost skipped out of the library after checking out The Book of Not. I know, I know I’m weird but Nervous Conditions rocked my world. It was required reading for my African Humanities class and it opened my eyes. Since then, I’ve been turned on to African female writers like Echemeta, Mariam Ba, Ama ata Aidoo, Adichie, Ken Bugul, Sefi Attah and more. I love to read from female authors, especially African ones. There are not nearly enough of them and there are so many stories that need to be heard.

I finally registered for the GRE yesterday. That $140 I paid was no joke. I could have spent it on a new purse or shoes so therefore I must take it once and no more than that. I’ve begun studying seriously sha. I haven’t taken math in years and It seems like it’s easier for me to solve a calculus problem than to do simple arithmetic without a calculator. And the verbal words nko…I used to think I could blow grammar but apparently I’m out of practice. Not to worry, come September 22nd, I will be ready! L’àgbàra Jésù (by God’s grace)

You have passed o jare! No shaking! The Lord is your strength.
About betrayed friendships...brush it off girl and live YOUR life.

Those books will be in my horizon now...i've always liked to read African authors but most of them are not something you can just walk into your regular Borders or B&N to buy so i have to order online. Have you read Half of a Yellow Sun? Efuru by Florence Nwapa? I just ordered Beasts of No Nation by Uzodinma Iweala although he's male sha...
I didn't even know you had updated so much, tot you would pull your regular disappearing act..now you gotsa bring it, lol!

....the book is on point, 5 stars.
..i took the gmat instead, try and get familiar with past/sample questions.
it helps a great deal, if you can have a feel of what the questions will be like.
and funny thing is, after a while , they usually have the same format.
.....practice! practice, and plenty more parctice!..good luck
